Catral Garden triples its own production in three years

The commitment to the national product is an essential value in Catral Garden, and that is why in recent years the company has given priority to improving the quality and growth of production to meet the high demand for it in the market. They are convinced of the importance of producing in Europe, close to their markets and their customers, complying with European labour regulations and quality standards. This proximity makes it possible to guarantee the quality of the products, extend their warranty periods, improve customer service and response capacity, as well as guarantee a controlled price thanks to a largely automated production fleet.

It also allows for a more robust and resilient supply chain, as its customers’ supplies are not dependent on possible international events if production takes place in Europe.

Two new in-house production lines

At the beginning of this year, the company started up two new production lines at its factory in Catral, Alicante, for LOP® wicker, the only semi-synthetic and ecological wicker on the market, patented at the European Patent Office (EP2848733).

LOP® ecological wicker has become the most demanded product on the market in the garden section. Proof of this is that, after five years in the shops, Catral Garden has recycled more than 350,000 kilograms of organic material to create the ecological wicker LOP®.

The increase in investment in production that the company has allocated is the result of the commitment to introduce the latest generation machinery in previous years, which has allowed it to produce more than 2,000,000 m² of concealing products in 2020, three times the production of the same factory in 2017.

High demand for LOP®, hedgerows and reeds

In addition, this increase is due to the great success of exclusive products made of LOP® materials, such as ecological trellises, as well as to the strong demand for high quality artificial hedges and PVC reeds also produced in its factory in Alicante.

The production of artificial hedges also stands out, as an essential concealment product in the garden shelves of the main national and international points of sale. Thus, the company has gradually increased investment in machinery at its facilities in Alicante, to meet the high demand for this product on the market and continue to meet our customer’s needs, controlling at all times the levels of production, quality and service.

950,000 m2 of artificial hedge by 2021

Proof of this is that in 2017 the production capacity of artificial hedges was 2000 m2, while in 2020 it has reached 575,000 m2 , with an estimate for 2021 to offer 950,000 m2 of artificial hedges to the market.

Moreover, this increase in investment and production is due to the great success of nationally manufactured products, as well as to the strong demand for ecological enclosures, high quality artificial hedges, pvc hedges for optimal concealment, etc.

Catral Garden has thus consolidated its position as the main manufacturer of garden enclosures in the national market, meeting the demand and betting on the growth of national production.
